When baby’s over purees, take a trip to the freezer March 6, 2012

It's not easy to figure out what to offer your boddler several times a day. But when the freezer's your friend, the options open up.

I’m a bit of an amnesiac when it comes to the tricks I learned with my first two kids. Now that my third son Reid is here, all of that know-how from three years ago has burrowed deep into my subconscious, determined to have a little fun with this “experienced” mom. So some days, I feel like I’m starting all over again.

Lately, I’ve been trying to remember what to do when 9- and 10-month-old babies reject the pureed, bland stuff but aren’t quite ready to jump into all the food the grown-ups eat. This time around, I’ve found myself opting for healthy, already-cooked food that’s been frozen and just needs a little defrost action to return to life. (more…)

The Rangely Moms Super Bowl Fundraiser, sponsored by that stellar business, Giovanni’s Italian Grill (we love you, John! You’re amazing, Sandy!! [applause, wild cheering, and general mayhem]), is once again underway. If you want a large $12 pizza delivered hot and piping to your door, you’d best not delay. Though the Paynes are donating 100 of them (that’s right, count ‘em, 1-0-0), we’ve learned that these babies go fast. (more…)

So about those night meetings… January 10, 2012

Mom #1: Hey, is Rangely Moms doing that night meeting thing again?

Mom #2: Yep, I think so. Somebody said it’s the third Thursday of the month now.

Mom #1: Awesome, then I can go! What’s the scoop?

Mom #2: Um…let’s see. January 19, 6:30 p.m. at Grace Baptist is what I hear. Just bring a dish to share and be ready to hang out and chat. Childcare’s provided, too!

Mom #2: Sa. Weet.

Moms meet at night? Oh, no you wouldn’t. (Oh, yes we will!) October 26, 2011

By Heather Zadra, BlogMom

In past years, it’s come up every now and again: is Thursday morning the best time for moms to meet? For many women, it seems to be. The first Thursday of every month is easy to remember. It can be planned on and scheduled around.

But for other moms, that morning slot coincides with the beginning of their work days, or home schooling, or volunteer obligations. And while these women would love to make it to Moms (and sometimes still do), letting go of that much paycheck–or time–is a challenge, to say the least. (more…)

Compiled and adapted by Heather Zadra

Welcome, and hello hello to our cyber audience out there! It’s time again for Babymeet, where your children are proven not only to be the cutest kids in town, but very probably the next born leaders of the free world! Today we have two lil’ darlings on the changing pad, so to speak. Please welcome almost 10-month-old Isabella Macey Cox, second daughter of Jason and Marybel Cox, and six-month-old Bentley Connor Baker (a.k.a. “Bug”), son of Heather and Ronnie Baker!

Isabella: It’s a pleasure, I’m sure.
Bentley: Yeah, thank you. Thank you very much.
Rangely Moms: We certainly appreciate your time today. Now let’s start by your telling me a little bit about yourselves, if you would. (more…)
